in our words

Hear from our founder and other leaders and what their heart is for you at this event.

Sally Mulready | Founder

For more than sixteen years, I have opened my home to women, leading small groups centered on loving God, loving others well, and faithfully serving through every season of life. Through countless conversations around kitchen tables and living rooms, I have witnessed the power of authentic community and the lasting impact of women encouraging one another in faith.

As the wife of Glen Mulready, Oklahoma’s Insurance Commissioner and former member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, I have had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with women serving in leadership across government, business, ministry, and their local communities. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities women face as they seek to balance faith, family, influence, and purpose.

Through Take Your Place, my desire is simple: to gather women, strengthen connections, and inspire each person to step confidently into the place God has prepared for them.

So often we wait until we feel fully ready, but some of the most meaningful things God invites us into require obedience before certainty. I’ve found courage is built as we take steps forward, not before we begin. There is something so special about women making space for one another to be honest, encourage each other, and keep saying yes to what God is stirring in our hearts. That kind of community can be hard to find, which is exactly why rooms like this matter.

‘…there will be a voice behind you saying: This is the way, walk in it.’  Isaiah 30:21  The goodness of God is that He is always there with a guiding heart, a gentle voice, and loving arms. God has already prepared a space for you, and is waiting for you to Take Your Place.

Justice Dana L. Kuehn

Vice-Chief Justice, Oklahoma Supreme Court
In my life no matter what I do, I rely on God to guide me (Proverbs 3:5-6). I grow in my faith in Him everyday by reading and understanding the biblical life book I have been graced to have to guide me (Psalm 119:105). I pray and ask what plans He has for me (Jeremiah 29:11), I pray through uncertainty or worry about my life (Philippians 4:6-7), I praise Him (Psalm 100:1-2), and I love Him with my whole heart (Deuteronomy 6:5).
My father and my husband are my “Dana cheerleaders” (Proverbs 17:17). My close friends are my ears, my prayer warriors (James 5:16), and the people I love to laugh and have unfettered fun with to relax and enjoy life (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). My four children are my gift from God (Psalm 127:3), who lets me raise His children and gives me joy- and pain- every day. I know God uses everything in my life to guide me for His purposes for me, and to all I am and do I give Him glory. I feel blessed to serve.

Evening News Anchor at KJRH

My relationship with God has been one of the biggest inspirations behind my journey into the news industry. I have always felt called to use my voice and platform to bring truth, hope, and light into a world that often feels broken and divided. In an industry that can sometimes focus more on negativity and shifting cultural agendas, my faith reminds me to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose while treating every person with dignity and respect. Along the way, I have also been incredibly blessed by friends who have encouraged me, prayed for me, and reminded me to stay grounded in who God created me to be. Their support has helped strengthen my faith and confidence through the challenges of a demanding industry, and I’m grateful to walk this path knowing I’m never doing it alone.

Donelle Harder

Chief of Staff to the 28th Governor of Oklahoma

“Take Your Place” means trusting God enough to walk in obedience to Him and His ways, and not in my own. From a young age, I have been inspired by Steven Curtis Chapman’s song “Higher Ways,” especially the lyric, “So let the road ahead become unclear, because I am Yours, so what have I to fear? My soul is resting on Your higher ways.” If my life had been limited to what I thought I was capable of or what I could imagine for myself, I would have greatly undersold my own potential. But God has always seen more for me than I could see for myself. Every time I have said “yes” to Him, even in seasons of tremendous sacrifice, great unknowns, and incredible shortcomings, He has shown up and brought more than I could have imagined. To me, “Take Your Place” means saying yes to God, leaning not on my own understanding, and trusting that His ways are always higher than what my human mind can comprehend in the moment.

Heather Turner

Executive Director of the David and Barbara Green Centre for Global Leadership

My relationship with God has been the foundation of my calling and pursuit from the very beginning. It’s truly a daily leaning into His strength rather than my own that has made way for me to take the steps I’ve taken in my life, ministry, and career. I believe God gave me a gift for discovering hidden talent, untapped potential, and new possibilities within people, organizations, and communities. But having the vision to see beyond what is into what could be, is just the start. Putting your faith into action through partnership with others is how I’ve seen so many of my dreams and the dreams of others come to life! Every person we encounter has something to teach us if we have the eyes to see and the humility to listen. I am deeply grateful for relationships that endure through time and distance, and for a God who remains faithful, constant, and trustworthy through it all. His plans are always good, and His faithfulness continues to guide every step of the journey. As I like to say to my friends and loved ones, “trust in Him, bet on you!” God has good plans!

Identity | belonging | activation

Identity | Before you take your place, you have to know who you are. Not by the world’s standards, but by who God says you are.

Belonging |  You were never meant to do life alone. There is power in being seen, supported, and surrounded by women who point you back to Jesus.

Activation |  Purpose requires movement. Faith requires obedience. This is where calling meets courage. It’s time to step in.
